Like them or hate them, re-makes are coming.

Among a myriad of other things, modern cinema is a pretty significant interest of mine. It seems the newest fad is re-making or re-booting older movies. New actors, new CG, and usually a lot of changes to the original script.

Many complain about their childhood classics being mutilated, while others wonder if Hollywood has just run out of good ideas. I have even heard theories that humankind itself has reached some sort of creative or intellectual plateau which somehow relates to our impending doom in 2012, as if to say that some higher power is looking down on us thinking, "Well, these humans have reached their full potential, time to wipe them out and try something new."

Whatever your feelings are, the recent remakes of Batman and Star Trek have proved to me, as well as most movie goers, that a remake can be good. In fact, a remake can even be amazing.
